Doctor Who Gets New Logo

The BBC have revealed a new logo for the new series of Doctor Who. The new logo has been designed to make the letters DW look like the TARDIS and will give the show fresh branding for when Matt Smith takes over the reigns.

Talking about the new logo, Steven Moffat said, "The eleventh logo for the eleventh Doctor - those grand old words, Doctor Who, suddenly looking newer than ever. And look at that, something really new - an insignia! DW in Tardis form!

"Simple and beautiful, and most important of all, a completely irresistible doodle.

"I apologise to school notebooks everywhere, because in 2010 that's what they're going to be wearing."

DOCTOR Who’s cast and crew yesterday descended on ancient South Wales ruins.

The Time Lord’s flame-haired assistant, Karen Gillan, was spotted at Neath Abbey on Wednesday, flanked by two colleagues and wearing little more than a towelling dressing gown.

It appeared as though the crumbling site, which dates back to 1129 AD, had been transformed into a complete structure for the sci-fi show.

Torchwood Death Threats

Wales Online have reported that death threats have been made to the writers of Torchwood for killing off main character Ianto Jones in the mini-series "Children Of Earth".

A spokesman for the BBC said the strong feelings expressed showed fans’ love of the Ianto character.

“It’s fantastic to see that Torchwood has obviously touched the emotions of so many people, who recognise, as we do, what a wonderful contribution Gareth David-Lloyd as Ianto Jones made to the series,” he said.

“The storyline did highlight the fragility of the Torchwood team and Ianto sacrificed his personal safety for the welfare of the human race.”

Torchwood To Return For Fourth Series?

A Torchwood panel headlined by Russell T. Davies and John Barrowman was the last big event of Comic-Con International this year and gave some good news for fans, the show will return for a full series in 2010.

The week-long mini-series, "Children of Earth," was a huge ratings success in the UK and fared well on BBC American in the US earning it a longer run.

Davies had no news on how many episodes fans could look forward to, while Barrowman offered little insight on how his Captain Jack character would return to the series after his exit at the conclusion of "Children of Earth."

"It's too early," Davies said. "We haven't even sat down for meetings on (the new season) yet."
