3rd X-Files Movie On The Way?

Gillian Anderson has said that there may be a third installment of the X-Files films. Speaking at the Sarajevo Film Festival she said,

"They talked about maybe doing it in 2012. I think there were discussions about that. I don't know whether that's going to happen or not, but there isn't any reason not to do it. It was fun, it was hard work. I feel a certain commitment to that group of people that I worked with and we still enjoy doing it, when we do it. There is no reason why not to come together and do it again. If they can pull it off, we'll find some reason to make it."

Star Trek To See Return Of Khan?

Spock/Sylar actor Zachary Quinto has suggested that Kirk's nemesis Khan is to appear in the next Star Trek movie.

Quinto said, "Star Trek is a priority, certainly, but I don't think anybody's in a hurry. Of course, the fans and the studio would love it to come out next summer if it could.

"I think it's going to be much better served by taking time and being clear about the story that they want to tell. Whether or not that involves Khan or Mr [William] Shatner remains to be seen."

No Singing For Spider-Man

U2 have said that main character Spider-Man won't be singing in his own musical, Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark.

Frontman Bono told Radio 1, "Our Peter Parker is much more... not Kurt Cobain, but a kind of slacker, a more kind of shy sort of guy."

Guitarist The Edge said, "We made one rule for ourselves though, that we would never have Spider-Man singing. A guy singing in tights can't happen."

Bono explained about the new female character they've added, "We've got a new villain, it's a girl. It's a very extraordinary role. We've taken it to a much more dizzy place than you'd expect."

Robert Carlyle: I've turned my back on cinema for new challenge in TV

From the Daily Record...

IT'S ALMOST impossible to think of Robert Carlyle without conjuring the image of Begbie tossing that pint glass into the crowd in Trainspotting.

Great actor that he is, whatever roles he takes, he will forever be associated with the grinning psychopath from the film that rocketed him to global stardom.Since then, of course, he has notched up more hit movies than many American stars can dream of - not bad for a lad from Glasgow's Maryhill.

He's even been a Bond villain and, let's face it, it doesn't get much better than that.

But now the man who can reduce just about anyone to a quivering mess with one angry glare has turned his back on cinema to star in a TV show - a sci-fi TV show. You would be forgiven for thinking we are winding you up.....

Cult tv advert meerkat, Aleksandr Orlov, from the comparethemeerkat adverts is to release a Christmas single following in the footsteps of Mr Blobby & The Teletubbies.

According to a source, "Aleksandr has a fanbase to rival any of today's pop divas so it seems an obvious move to have a crack at recording a song.

"It'll be an upbeat, modern ditty but of course with a lot of Russian influence. Expect plenty of gags and the 'Simples!' catchphrase to feature heavily. It's the kind of thing you can see sweeping the net too."
