Heroes To Lose A Hero?

Ouch.

This one is going to leave a mark.

Sources over on NBC's Heroes confirm to me that a major death is in the works, and this is not one that will go unnoticed by even the most casual fan.

It is huge.

So who is it?

Well, you know how these things go...We can't come right out and name any names. (Unless someone can hook me up right quick with the Witness Protection Program?)

Doctor Who Gets New Logo

The BBC have revealed a new logo for the new series of Doctor Who. The new logo has been designed to make the letters DW look like the TARDIS and will give the show fresh branding for when Matt Smith takes over the reigns.

Talking about the new logo, Steven Moffat said, "The eleventh logo for the eleventh Doctor - those grand old words, Doctor Who, suddenly looking newer than ever. And look at that, something really new - an insignia! DW in Tardis form!

"Simple and beautiful, and most important of all, a completely irresistible doodle.

"I apologise to school notebooks everywhere, because in 2010 that's what they're going to be wearing."

Kill Bill 3 Set For 2014

Quentin Tarantino is planning a third installment of Kill Bill and it should be in cinemas by 2014.

Speaking on an Italian talk show he said, "The Bride will fight again! I have to wait a couple of years because I want ten years to pass from the second one to the third one. For two reasons - one, I think me and Uma need a ten-year break because the first one was so hard. Second, I love the character. I just really, really love her.

"I think she deserves ten years of peace! Ten years of no fighting and ten years with her child BB. I put her through a lot and I want her to have a nice peaceful life for ten years! After that, something will happen that makes her fight again."

Being Human

Lurking in the 10:35 slot on BBC1 on Thursday nights is a bit of a hidden gem called Being Human originally shown on BBC3. Set in Bristol the programme shows a different side of the city to that shown in teen comedy drama Skins. The show centres on three main characters sharing a house however these aren't normal flatmates. John Mitchell is a vampire, George Sands a werewolf and Annie Sawyer is a ghost. The story sees the characters trying to live with their conditions until they discover a plot by the head vampire, Herrick, which sees the whole world either turned into vampires, or kept like cattle as food.

Filming is currently taking on a second series which is due to air in Spring 2010 on BBC3.

Doctor Who Spotted Filming In Welsh Ruins

The Time Lord’s flame-haired assistant, Karen Gillan, was spotted at Neath Abbey on Wednesday, flanked by two colleagues and wearing little more than a towelling dressing gown.

It appeared as though the crumbling site, which dates back to 1129 AD, had been transformed into a complete structure for the sci-fi show.

Firefly Style Show Being Developed

Fox have ordered a script for new sci-fi western show to be written. The show will be produced by Wonderland who currently make Chuck and Supernatural. The show will is,
"Described as an epic Western with a sci-fi twist, the show will revolve around 'a gunslinger caught between worlds' and will feature a nod to Planet of the Apes." Fans of Fox's previous sci-fi/western crossover show, Joss Whedon's Firefly, may be a bit peeved to see them asking for a similar show after they unceremoniously canned it after one season. Perhaps the success of the follow up film Serenity showed them that there's a market out there for it.

The film updates the back story to the Iraq war and sees Liam Neeson star as Hannibal and Bradley Cooper as Faceman. No news on who is playing 'Howling Mad' Murdoch yet but I'd have thought it would be an ideal role for Jim Carey
