FlashForward Gets Full Season

FlashForward Attracts The Viewers

ABC's FlashForward proved a hit in the ratings after it's debut on in America on Thursday night. Figures indicate it received 12.41 million viewers beating Bones (8.8m) and Vampire Diaires (3.81m). Five will be hoping for a similar share of the UK viewing figures the show premieres on tomorrow (28/09/09) at 9pm.

FlashForward - The Lowdown

This years highly anticipated ratings-buster series is ABC's FlashForward. The show is based on the novel of the same name by Canadian science fiction writer Robert J Sawyer. The first season is set for 13 episodes starting on Thurdsday 24th September in the States and about a week later in the UK.

The plot sees mankind coming to terms with a mysterious global event lasting just two minutes and seventeen seconds. The event caused the majority of people to simultaneously see glimpses of their life six months in the future. The after effects of the event leave people wondering if what they saw will come true and those who saw nothing worrying if they will still be alive in 6 months.

Joseph Fiennes plays a Los Angeles FBI agent named Mark Benford. With help from his team he tries to work out what exactly happened and why it happened. They create a website database called The Mosaic Collective which contains flash-forwards from people around the world.

ABC have released a sneak peek of their eagerly anticipated upcoming show, FlashForward. The show is due to premiere September 24th in the States and about a week later in the UK on Five.

Channel 5 Pick Up FlashForward

Channel Five have got the rights to show ABC's next 'Lost', FlashForward. The plot sees everyone on the planet black out for 2 minutes & 17 seconds during which time they see glimpses of their own future. The show stars John Cho of Harold & Kumar fame and Jack Davenport from Coupling amongst others.

Five will show the 13 part series, which starts in the US on 24 September, this Autumn.

"I am delighted we will be the UK broadcaster of this gripping new series," said Jeff Ford, managing director of digital channels and acquisitions at Five. "When we saw the pilot at the LA Screenings this year, we knew it would be perfect for our channels and make a fantastic addition to our autumn lineup."
