New Torchwood Still On The Cards

Russell T Davies has said in an interview is this month's Torchwood magazine that it could return for a new series. The show, which sees John Barrowman star as Captain Jack Harkness, looked like it could have ended with the recent 5 part mini-series which ended with fan favourite Ianto killed off, Gwen expecting a baby and Jack beaming up into space.

Russell revealed, "I know exactly how to pick it up. I¹ve got a shape in mind, and I've got stories. I know where you'd find Gwen and Rhys, and their baby, and Jack, and I know how you'd go forward with a new form of Torchwood."

Shooting Stars Returns

Cult quiz show Shooting Stars returns to BBC2 on Wednesday (26/08/09) at 10pm with guests Christine Bleakley, Paddy McGuinness, DJ Ironik and Angelos Epithemiou. The madcap returns after a successful Christmas special. Vic Reeves told Radio Times magazine: "There's more energy in this than anything we've done. We're not crippled and incapable yet. I think comedy probably is a young man's game, but it's gone a bit stale at the moment."

Bob Mortimer added: "It doesn't feel like there's been that much new. I think The Mighty Boosh are quite good. But I could have been watching this new crop - Michael McIntyre and people - 20 years ago."

Vic added: "When we were doing Vic Reeves Big Night Out, they were the kind of people that were around, and we came along and did something different. And they're still there. There's nothing new."
