Still Lost

The Lost finale promised to wrap things up nicely with questions being answered but in the end all it really answered was what the season 6's story arc of the flash sideways timeline meant. None of the real mysteries of the island that have intrigued the millions of followers were even attempted to be answered and viewers were probably left with more unanswered questions than before.

It looks like we will never know who built all the ancient places and the 4 toed statue. Nor who the 'Mother' was and how she single handedly managed to destroy the well and massacre an entire village. Was she both good and bad and therefore the smoke monster who then decided to split the good and bad in her between Jacob & MiB? Who was it that put the wheel in place after it was buried in the well?

Maybe it's been left open to allow some novels of the island to be written, we'll just have to wait and see.

"We did not shoot the final scene of the series on the final day... for reasons of maintaining the secrecy of the show, and we had to build some sets for the finale - the construction of the new sets took a while so that's the work that we did last," Lindelof explained.
