The Office star Steve Carell is to swap filing cabinets to re-open the Rockford Files. No news yet on whether he'll be playing the lead part of ex-con turned P.I. Jim Rockford.
David Shore had this to say about the project to Variety magazine: “I had no interest in adapting any old stuff, but this was the one exception."
"What makes ‘Rockford’ timeless is that he’s vulnerable, he’s flawed...sometimes he’s a hero and sometimes he runs away.”

Rockford files to be re-opened
House creator David Shore is to do a re-make of classic 70's private-eye show The Rockford Files. Big question though is will they keep the theme tune the same?
